This is the fifth time I’ve gotten to say these words, and it still never gets old...
I have a new album coming out!
I’m really thrilled to announce that on October 7th, my new album Winning Streak will be yours. It’s available to pre-order now HERE, alongside some bundles featuring lovely merch (pictured below), designed by the amazing Roisin O’Donnell…
Winning Streak came out of a period of taking stock, leaving Los Angeles, moving back to the UK, and trying to figure out what success actually means when things don’t quite go to plan. It’s an album about missed chances, long shots, nostalgia, regret, and trying to stay optimistic when the goalposts keep moving.
Despite the title, Winning Streak isn’t really about winning all the time. It’s more about keeping going when momentum disappears, learning to live with the choices you’ve made, and realising that sometimes just getting back up again counts as a win.
I know October feels a long way off, but don’t worry, there’ll be plenty of music between now and then to keep you busy, including my latest single, Hail Mary…
After a six-year chapter living in Los Angeles, there came a point where leaving couldn’t be put off any longer. Hail Mary came from the frustration of packing up the life I had built out West, and the fear of returning home with nothing to show for it.
After years spent chasing career success, making sacrifices, and believing it would eventually pay off, those sacrifices began to weigh heavier, and the blind optimism I once had started to fade. The song is rooted in the feeling of betting everything you have on a dream and not wanting to walk away empty-handed.
In my final months in LA, an unexpected romance became part of that gamble too. The song captures the decision to take one final shot at success before finally letting it all go and returning to England.
Originally just a demo of guitar and vocals, Hail Mary took on a new life through the influence of Glen Campbell and Kenny Rogers, with warbled guitars, soaring strings, pedal steel, and a driving rhythm shaping it into the American country-inspired track it became.
It’s a heartfelt farewell to LA, and one last roll of the dice on love and career.
Anyway, go pre-order, listen, follow, whatever you want, it’s all greatly appreciated <3
