Just finished my first week in the studio recording the new album, and I’ve been really enjoying the bus commute back and forth—just the perfect amount of time to listen to some songs and feel inspired!
I’ve added a whole bunch to my playlist, but here are my top three from the week:
Cameron Winter – Nausicaä (Love Will Be Revealed)
My friend Rupert showed me this track a few days ago, and I’ve already racked up an ungodly number of plays. There’s something so simple yet infectious about it—his voice is so effortlessly soulful, the production loose and free-flowing. Weirdly obsessed with the sluggish shaker throughout. I think this might be my new favourite tempo?
Julianna Riolino & Adrian Underhill – Against the Grain
I refuse to believe this isn’t Mama Cass! Pure Mamas & The Papas / John Phillips vibes. ❤️
One of those songs that briefly transports me to a brighter day. Even if London looks apocalyptic from the bus window, I can close my eyes and feel like I’m back in LA, riding my Vespa through endless traffic, soaking up that warm, smoggy sun on my pale skin. :’(
Ted Hawkins – Sorry You’re Sick
At the start of last week, my girlfriend and I were both sick, and this popped up on my Discover Weekly shuffle—boy, is it cute!
Dare I say… as infectious as the flu we caught? Too much?
Have a lovely week, one and all.
